Jon Gosselin Awarded Sole Custody Of Son Collin

Jon Gosselin

This family has been in the reality TV news cycle for a long time. Their show on TLC, Jon and Kate Plus 8, was one of those guilty pleasure shows that we couldn’t stop watching. Following Kate and Jon Gosselin as they learned to find some form of routine while parenting two older twin daughters and six newborn babies, their show brought us into their non-typical parenting life. The two bickered, they had their faults, and their sweet moments. Basically, it was reality TV gold because there was always something to discuss.

And to be fair, they gave us a lot to talk about. Since first appearing on TV, the two have separated, their split was not the cleanest. And it felt like Jon went through some sort of mid-life crisis, and Kate as well. And between it all, their kids continued to grow. Now, those 6 babies are 14-year-old teenagers, and the two older girls are now 18, and the drama keeps coming.

Earlier this week, Jon Gosselin was awarded sole custody of his 14-year-old son, Collin.

Sources tell ET News that a judge in Pennsylvania made the decision to give Jon custody of Collin after Kate did no show up to court. The source says that at this time, she’s unable to appeal the temporary full custody order by the judge, so it seems pretty official.

ET continues to say that Kate had asked for the hearing to be postponed, but the judge denied the request.

The couple has seen their fair share of public criticism, and especially over their son, Collin, who was absent from their social photos for a long while. Fans constantly asked why he wasn’t with them and all that was revealed was that he was living at a treatment facility for “special needs,” though that wasn’t really defined.

Reports say that Jon saw Collin for the first time in three years just last month when Collin paid him a visit home. It was one of the first sightings fans had when Jon shared a photo to his social media with Collin, and one of his older daughters, Hannah.

According to a source that spoke to ET, Jon is thrilled. “It took a while to get here, but things are all coming together,” the source said. “Jon just wants to have his family back, and live his life.”

Hopefully, this won’t kick up too much drama for Jon and Kate. And the kids!
